Day trips and sights in our area and throughout Tirol. During your mountain summer holiday in Pettneu am Arlberg, there is a lot to discover. The entire holiday region is full of surprises, but there is also a lot to see in the immediate vicinity.

Alongside the natural and cultural diversity, the impressive mountain passes, museums, shopping opportunities and much more invite to pass the time in an entertaining way. Several must-see attractions are definitely worth taking a short car journey.

Traditional festivals in Pettneu and St. Anton

Dive into the lived tradition of the locals in Tirol and celebrate together with us at village festivals, Schützenfeste (shooting festivals), and the annual Alpine Cattle Drive. With a great atmosphere, often music, hearty cuisine, strong schnapps and beer fresh from the tap. 

Alpine Coaster in Imst

Long, longer alpine coaster Exactly 3,535 metres of pure adventure are waiting for all those who whiz down the alpine coaster into the valley. With this length, the alpine roller-coaster, which is guided by rails, is not only the longest in the world - curves, ripples and jumps make the approx. nine-minute ride a breath-taking experience for the whole family.

The alpine Coaster in Imst can be reached in approx. 30 minutes travel time from the Hotel Pettneuerhof. 

Alpine zoo  

The Alpine Zoo Innsbruck is one of the highest-located zoos in Europe. On an area of around 4.1 ha, this themed zoo of the alpine animal world is home to a collection of around 150 animal species with 2,000 animals from the entire Alpine region.

The alpine zoo can be reached in approx. 50 minutes travel time from the Hotel Pettneuerhof. 

Ötzi-village in the Ötztal valley 

How did people live in the Ötztal 5,000 years ago? What clothing protected them from the cold? And what weapons did they use on their raids? Those who would like to discover the breathtaking stone age world of Ötzi up close and personal, can discover interesting facts about life in Ötzi's time in the Ötzi village.

The Ötzi village can be reached in approx. 50 minutes travel time from the Hotel Pettneuerhof. 

Innsbruck

Whether it's sightseeing, a shopping tour or a leisurely city tour - Innsbruck is a magnificent excursion destination for the whole family. The highlights at a glance: The Goldene Dachl, Innsbruck's monument in the heart of the old town, built by Kaiser Maximilian. Or the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the Hofkirche and Imperial gardens. In the background, there's the Nordkette, the gateway to Karwendel. You will love the view just as much as we do! Because nowhere else are the mountains and city so close together. The alpine panorama surrounds you, wherever you go: on a stroll through the medieval old city, under shaded arcades and to colourful rows of houses.

Innsbruck can be reached by car or train from the Hotel Pettneuerhof in around 1 hour. 

Swarovski Crystal World 

The Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens offers a journey of discovery for your mind. You will be transported into a breathtaking world of sparkling imagination. Guarded by giants, the Swarovski Crystal World accommodates grand treasures and unique experiences.

The Swarovski Crystal World can be reached after an approx. 1.5 hour drive from the Hotel Pettneuerhof. 

Kaunertal Glacier 

The Kaunertal Glacier Road - Austria's most beautiful dead end.

The retreat of the glacier opens up a unique natural landscape in the back of Kaunertal, which becomes a constantly changing natural spectacle for conscious visitors. The road has been laid in the mountain landscape with great sensitivity and consideration for the natural soil of the mountain landscape. Like a meandering tape, the road winds its way from the valley floor up to the Glaciological centre at a height of 2,750 metres above sea level.

The glacier can be reached in around 90 minutes from the hotel Pettneuerhof.
